Cologne is a city on the Rhine in western Germany, famous for its Gothic cathedral and rich medieval history.

A Gothic cathedral begun in the 13th century and completed over several centuries. The exterior is dominated by two soaring spires that are the city's unmistakable symbol. The interior contains rich decorations and the ornate shrine of the Three Kings.
The museum houses artifacts from the Roman period when the city was an important Roman fortress (Colonia Agrippina). The collection includes sculptures, mosaics, glass, and ceramics from antiquity.
An area of Renaissance houses with gable roofs, small shops, cafés and restaurants. Largely reconstructed after World War II, it preserves medieval character with its narrow winding streets and charming atmosphere.
The right bank of the Rhine lined with several important museums covering art, design, and applied arts. A pleasant walk with views of the cathedral and old town across the river.
