Tickets and fares for public transport in Subotica
City lines in Subotica are run by JP Subotica-trans. Tickets are cheaper when bought in advance than from the driver, and regular passengers use a contactless smart card with a monthly or half-monthly pass.
How to pay for the ride
Single tickets are bought in advance or on the bus, while season tickets are loaded onto a contactless plastic smart card. Night departures (22:35–03:45) are charged at the on-board price.

Reduced fares and ticket inspection
Reduced monthly passes are available to pupils, students, pensioners and people over 65, with the appropriate documents when the card is issued. Travelling without a ticket is charged as a penalty fare:
- pupils and students — monthly pass 2,340 RSD
- pensioners and people over 65 — monthly pass 1,404 RSD
- penalty fare (travel without a ticket) — 1,500 RSD
- special penalty fare — 3,200 RSD
Good to know
- A monthly pass is valid for the current month and the first working day of the next month.
- Buying in advance is 30 dinars cheaper than buying on board.
