Since 1 January 2025, public transport in Belgrade is free for all passenger categories. On most of the network there is no ticket to buy or validate — here is exactly where it applies and where you still pay.

Free for all passengers
Since 1 January 2025 no fare is charged to any category of passenger on city and suburban lines. No ticket or validation is needed — simply board the vehicle.

Night lines (N)
Travel on night lines (marked N), running roughly from 00:00 to 04:00, has been free for all passengers since 17 May 2023.
Lines that still charge a fare
The A1 minibus line and the suburban E lines (E2, E6, E9) are not part of the free-transport system. For these, tickets are bought only on board.

Is public transport in Belgrade free?
Yes. Since 1 January 2025 public transport in Belgrade is free for all passengers on bus, tram, trolleybus, EKO and BG Voz lines — no ticket and no validation.
Which lines still charge a fare?
The A1 minibus line (400 RSD) and the suburban E lines E2, E6 and E9 (200 RSD). For these, tickets are bought on board only.
Is night transport free?
Yes. Night lines (marked N), running roughly from 00:00 to 04:00, have been free for all passengers since 17 May 2023.
