Night public transport in Belgrade — the complete guide

Night lines operate roughly from midnight until 4 a.m. — exactly when the daytime network sleeps. Departures are less frequent than during the day, typically about once an hour per line, so planning ahead matters more at night.

First and last departures differ from line to line. The most reliable source is the page of the specific night line on busevi.rs — it lists every single departure from the origin stop, for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Most night lines start in the very centre of the city and branch out towards all major neighbourhoods, so after midnight you can reach practically any part of Belgrade from the centre with a single line, no transfers.

A few practical tips for a smooth ride home:

BG Voz (the city railway) does not run overnight — the last trains leave in the evening and the first ones depart early in the morning. If you rely on the train, check the last departure from your station on the BG Voz page; after that, your alternative is a night bus towards the same part of the city.

Night lines are used by everyone — from shift workers to people heading home from a night out. Vehicles stop at regular stops, so choose well-lit stops on main streets when you can; a few minutes’ walk to a main corridor served by several lines often beats waiting in a side street.

A charged phone is genuinely useful at 2 a.m.: the timetable and the planner matter most exactly when the next departure is in 40 minutes and you need to decide whether to wait or walk to another line.

The night network runs every night, weekdays and weekends alike. The difference is the daytime schedule around it: on Fridays and Saturdays day lines usually run somewhat later, shrinking the gap before the first night departure; on Sunday evenings day lines stop earlier, so night lines take over more of the evening.
